When a crash occurs, Event Data Recorders (EDR) record information like the vehicle’s speed, accelerator and brake pedal positions, steering wheel movements, collision forces, and often much more. EDR data is one of the most useful and reliable sources of answers in a vehicle collision - but only if it’s preserved!
If your car is model year 2014 or newer, it almost certainly has an Event Data Recorder (EDR). In fact, some vehicle manufacturer’s have been equipping their cars with EDRs as early as 1994!
Evident provides EDR data collection services for all Bosch CDR supported vehicles. We also offer enhanced Toyota TechStream data collection.

Some questions can’t be answered by EDR data alone. At Evident, we always recommend preserving as much evidence as possible for a full picture of the collision. Our crash investigators and analysts are experts at locating and identifying critical evidence at the site of the incident as well as markings and damages to the vehicles involved in the collison.
When it comes to roadway evidence preservation, the sooner the better. However, roadway markings can remain for weeks or even months after a collision occurs, preserving the evidence now is better than never. Even if no identifiable markings exist on the roadway - a lack of evidence can in of itself be powerful evidence!

What good is the evidence if you don’t know what it means? Our experienced crash analysts will review the evidence collected and other pertinent information (e.g. police reports and witness statements) and explain, in simple terms, what the available evidence can and cannot tell you about the incident.

Note: All of our services include basic explanations of the significance of the evidence collected. This enhanced service analyzes the evidence in the broader context of the case to provide additional insights with the help of physics and advanced reconstruction techniques.

EDR Download Only

Event Data Recorder download (via DLC port)* and basic overall photos of the vehicle’s interior and exterior.
+$75 for Toyota TechStream data collection (if applicable).
*An additional $200 fee will be applied if the vehicle’s condition prevents download via the DLC port (e.g. missing vehicle key or damaged electrical system).

Full Vehicle Inspection

Event Data Recorder download and Toyota TechStream data collection (as applicable).
Thorough inspection of the vehicle, documenting all pertinent evidence identified on the vehicle (e.g. seatbelts, light filaments, tire condition, crush measurements, etc.).
Includes a three-dimensional model of the vehicle.

Rapid Site Preservation

Video driving through the location of the incident.
Aerial photographs of the site by our FAA certified drone operators.
Note: This package is subject to the limitations of drone operations. Airspace restrictions and heavily tree lined roads may prevent aerial imagery. We will advise you of these limitations before providing this service.

Full Site Inspection

Thorough inspection of the location of the incident with evidence identification, marking, and documentation.
Ground-level photographs of the site.
Aerial photographs of the site by our FAA certified drone operators.
High definition orthomosiac image of the site for easy and accurate measurements.
Note: This package is subject to the same drone operation limitations as the Rapid Site Preservation option.
FLAT RATE SERVICE AREA:
Within 2 hours (one-way) from our location in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
COPART and IAA:
We service all eastern PA locations (including Harrisburg and York) and all NJ locations.
Outside of our Flat Rate Service Area? Additional travel can be accommodated and billed at an hourly rate.
